8th Note

From the Artistic Director

Welcome to all our music loving friends for a very special season of chamber music. The 2009-2010 season marks the 25th anniversary of the Front Range Chamber Players, and we are celebrating by presenting some of the world’s greatest music in grand style.

Join us in our new venue! We give you a series of four concerts at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fort Collins, beginning in September with a program of music for winds, including Paquito D’Rivera’s jazzy Aires Tropicales. Our second concert, in November, features Fort Collins’ own Appassionato String Quartet in music of Debussy, Prokofiev and Bartók. In February, we are proud to present mezzo-soprano Lee Ann Scherlong in a program of old and new music, with some jazz thrown in just for fun. For our season finale in April, we devote the evening to Schubert’s monumental Octet for Strings and Winds.

All our concerts take place on Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Ticket ordering information, along with a map to locate St. John’s Lutheran, can be found inside this brochure.

Thank you! We hope to see you at our concerts, and at the meet-the-artists receptions following each one.
